Lightening doesn’t strike twice

Mainly for the more experienced players, but also can be thoughts from the less avid golfer, is the mindset of having to quickly recover from big numbers immediately. After making a double bogey, most players change their course management and take on the risk of continued mistakes because of trying to make a “must needed” birdie on the next hole…

Consistency comes from creating an added since of control of every round because of a long term mindset not a short term mindset. A golf round is a marathon, not a sprint, with not every shot being perfect. A game of misses, is controlled best from the players better able to recover and maintain lower scores.

So next time you are teeing it up with your buddies this season, just because a ball goes in the water on the third hole, does not mean the round is over. There is eighteen holes that can be played throughout the round and you never know what long putts will fall, great bounces off of trees, or sideways rolls that can occur on the fairways. Keep the positiveness high and continue to look ahead over the steering wheel not in the rear view mirror.
