The quickest way to improve accuracy with your clubs is to develop a consistent ball flight. Too often I see players clubs go different distances as well as fly at different trajectories, because of poor ball position. Of course the most preferred flight includes the shots that “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” by flying high and landing soft. Follow this tip to have your shots be more consistent this season!

Too often player read some “band aid“ article in some magazine that alters their shoulder line or ability to properly judge ball position. If you have the ball too far back in your stance, the shot will most likely be hit heavy or right outside the desired target. Just as hurtful to our game is if our ball position gets adjusted too far forward, which leads to either a thin contracted shot or curvature resulting in a undesired hook.

So to better help your ball position this season, focus on keeping your shoulder line balanced which will help keep the ball position of irons stay in the middle. Then from there, we can properly adjust our ball position when clubs grow in length. I like to tell my player to adjust their ball position when having bigger the club head, move the ball more forward in their ball position. Finishing with the driver as the club with the largest club head, lining up at the players lead shoe laces.
